Excellent career opportunity for an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) in the exciting, in demand, field of Information Assurance. The successful candidate will be a member of a dynamic Information Security services team. In this position, you will report to an Information System Security Manager (ISSM) on a long term, multi year contract. You will be directly involved in the Certification and Accreditation of classified government systems. These tasks will require a working knowledge of information security principles in general and, the DCID 6/3 security requirements document, as well as the NISCAP process. C&A Duties also involve/require, among other responsibilities: * Working knowledge of security policies, security functions, technical security safeguards, and operational security measures as utilized by government agencies. * Preparation and maintenance of C&A documentation as required by NISCAP procedures and DCID 6/3 for systems under their purview. * Providing daily, ongoing security oversight of assigned systems as to the security impact of proposed modifications, additions, and technology refresh evolutions on the security posture of a system. * Review system audit logs on a periodic basis, looking for security related events * Advising users of the security features and procedures used the information systems (IS) * Identify to senior management and other appropriate information system security (ISS) personnel any security weaknesses as well as security improvements for the IS. * Other security duties as assigned by the Information System Security Manager (ISSM)
Education/Experience: Preferred - Bachelors Degree and 5 years work experiences OR Master's Degree and 3 years equivalent work experience Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI + Polygraph required Certifications: CISSP certification is highly desirable.
