| Embedded Software Developer |

Job Summary: Primary responsibility is to research, design and develop software systems, software applications and tools for new programs as well as enhancements and modifications to existing software. This involves: Supporting the software architect/lead in developing technical solutions to complex problems while adhering to prescribed CMMI software processes. Taking responsibility of the full software life cycle including the application of standard methodologies such as Object Oriented Analysis and Design. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of embedded software on a variety of platforms, with a high-level understanding of the underlying hardware and system. Software developers will generally work independently or in small teams involving other developers, engineers, and project managers. These teams are required to understand and document requirements, propose solutions, design, implement, test, and deliver. Senior candidates may be a member of multiple teams. The successful candidate will consistently meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the end-users. The initial position will require work with an off-site multi-function engineering team located in the Baltimore Washington area.
Qualifications: A degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 3 years directly related experience is required. Equivalent years of directly related experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements. Experience with software development for embedded microcontrollers, microprocessors, and DSPs in C, C++, VxWorks, and assembly language. Embedded system developer Strong C programming skills, assembly language and best practice coding standards digitization experience. 3+ years experience or demonstration of comparable skill level, reverse engineering skills. Vx Works development (or other embedded realtime OS) embedded C and C++. TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph required. Desired Experience but not required: SONET/SDH, WDM/DWDM, IDA Pro, Hex Editors, Packet Captures, Logic analyzer use, JTAG. |
