| Unix Engineer |

Required Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duties satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
•Experience with UNIX installation standards (pkgadd, rpm).
•Strong UNIX scripting skills (Bourne Shell, Korn Shell, Perl).
•Familiar with UNIX security technologies (Syslog, BSM Auditing)
•Thorough understanding of virtualization/zonning and data replication.
•Thorough understanding of TCP/IP and routing concepts required.
•Knowledge of Windows 2003/XP is helpful.
•Excellent communications skills with proven ability to communicate professionally in a corporate environment.
Required Experience:
•Three or more years experience engineering UNIX systems (Solaris, Linux) in medium or larger environments (300+ nodes).
•Experience in standardizing and automating system builds, component installation, and system configuration.
•Experience with software and hardware troubleshooting and system monitoring
Active government security clearance is required (Lifestyle Polygraph)
Job Description:
•Provides thought leadership and hands-on technical guidance for infrastructure engineering projects
•Researches enterprise products, as well as optimization and re-engineering opportunities and makes recommendations based on research.
•Identifies technical issues and risks, and recommends risk mitigation strategies to ensure the success of infrastructure security engineering projects.
•Assists in authoring requirements to ensure infrastructure security objectives are achieved
•Creates design and test documentation in support of projects and communicates design requirements to vendors
•Executes tests to validate requirements and design achieve desired security outcomes
•Authors technical documentation required for transitioning security engineering projects to ongoing operational teams
•Provides training and conducts other activities to support ongoing operational team
•Provides guidance regarding how assigned projects may impact operational standards
•Analyzes project requirements and recommends solutions.
•Completes complex project assignments in accordance with standards to enable infrastructure policies and standards
•Communicates with vendors as necessary to execute project requirements
•Works with vendors to troubleshoot issues. In depth understanding of Solaris for (SPARC and Intel).
