THE JOB
POSITION: Information Systems Security Engineer
CUSTOMER: US ARMY
LOCATION: 5 positions – Sierra Vista, AZ (Ft. Huachuca) or any where in US.
CLIENT will allow employees to work from home 65% - 75% of time
TARGET SALARY: $65 - 78K annual (equivalent to $76K – $94K in the Washington DC metro area)
START DATE: Immediately!
TRAVEL: 25 - 35%
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Active DoD Secret clearance
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, CS, Info Technology, engineering, or related. Multiple years of experience and prior customer experience may substitute for degree.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Ideal candidate will perform serve as an Information Systems Security Engineer at Fort Huachuca, AZ and support US Army and DoD efforts. Ideal candidate will assume T&E management support duties by providing technical support for development and incorporation of Department of Defense Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP) to DIACAP compliant C&A data, artifacts, and documentation related to DLA applications and data bases being migrated to the EDC for hosting services.
Ideal Candidate will assist Senior Lead CA &IA Systems Engineers in support of the performance of processes, procedures, methodologies, mechanisms and the technology application needed to satisfy the IA security requirements. Firewall rule analysis, member for security test and evaluation team activities to include order of and support to ERetina scanning, Gold Disk, SRR Unix scripts. Other task provides configuration management (CM) for Conducting Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documents.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Perform information systems security engineering to integrate required security characteristics and requirements into the performance objectives of the selected system. Security engineering efforts generally include:
System security engineering assistance from concept development through system implementation.
•Preparation of security plans; CONOPS, Threat Assessments and Design
•Conducting and documenting risk and threat assessments and implementing countermeasures as required.
•Developing, reviewing, and executing security test and evaluation plans.
Providing engineering analysis support:
•security-related hardware, software, and network component evaluations
•security policy, process, and procedure determination/evaluation
•risk analysis
•accreditation package analysis
•engineering change proposal analysis
Providing security engineering design for:
•operating systems, databases
•networks
•applications
•engineering change proposals
•communication backbones
Providing security engineering implementation support. Security configuration and implementation expertise includes but is not limited to:
Operating systems (e.g., UNIX-based or Windows-based)
Databases, (e.g., Oracle or INFORMIX)
Firewalls
Network operating systems
Encryption devices/software
Network devices (e.g., routers and switches)
Remote access servers
Client/server environments
Internet protocols and protocol add-ons
Intrusion detection tools
Security evaluation tools
Other security-related tools/devices
Web technology
Electronic commerce
Transport technologies (e.g., Internet Protocol, Asynchronous Transfer Mode, Internet Protocol Exchange)
Physical security
RED/BLACK security
Electronics Material Protected from Emanating Spurious Transmissions (TEMPEST)
Voice and telephony technologies
System Security Accreditation and Maintenance Support:
This support includes planning, analysis, design, implementation, documentation, and reporting activities for system security accreditation. The contractor shall support both a generic system accreditation and site-specific accreditation. Tasks may include but not be limited to: the preparation of an Accreditation Plan (System Security Authorization Agreement/Security Plan); development of interim approval to operate requests; risk management reports; and development of interconnect Memorandum of Agreement/Memorandum of Understanding
Security Certification:
Perform security certification to ensure that subject systems meet all applicable security regulations, standards, and explicit and derived security requirements. In addition, ensure that these systems are protected from known vulnerabilities.
