Security Analyst  
USmax Corporation is looking for a Security Analyst to join the team supporting a major government agency within the Computer Security Incident Response Center (CSIRC). ** Maintaining or obtaining a favorable US Customs and Border Protection Clearance is a MUST.

This is an enterprise environment utilizing the latest technology to detect, analyze and limit intrusions and security events. Candidates must be willing to work in a NOC/SOC environment, demonstrate intuitive problem solving skills and allow for flexible scheduling. Candidates MUST be able to obtain a government security clearance and obtain a favorable Customs Background Investigation. Weekend and holiday work may be required, with some limited scheduling flexibility available.

Responsibilities:
• Investigate, identify, evaluate and document foreign systems and instrumentation.
• Continuously monitoring levels of service as well as interpreting and prioritizing threats through use of intrusion detection systems, firewalls and other boundary protection devices, and any security incident management products deployed.
• Recognize potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises thorough reviews and analyses of relevant event detail and summary information.
• Communicate alerts to agencies regarding actual intrusions and potential intrusions and compromises to their network infrastructure, applications and operating systems. Implements counter-measures or mitigating controls.
• Generate end-of-shift reports for documentation and knowledge transfer to subsequent analysts on duty.
• Ensure integrity and protection of networks, systems, and applications by technical enforcement of organizational security policies, through monitoring of vulnerability scanning devices.
• Cooperation with interagency personnel to compile information for the purpose of understanding agency's mission, goals and needs.
• Perform periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments, including user accounts, application access, file system and external Web integrity scans to determine compliance.
• Monitor and proactively mitigate information security risks.
• Recommend, develop, monitor and enforce information security policies.
• Report changes, trends and implications regarding design and integration of evolving systems and instrumentation.
• Prepare briefings and reports of analysis methodology and results.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant current security tools as assigned.
• Communicates with agency personnel, law enforcement and upper management for the purpose of developing and providing analysis reports.

We are seeking a proven team player with excellent oral and written communication skills. A self-starter, capable of independent tasking and project completion with little supervision. Candidate should be able to work flexible schedule within a 24/7/365 environment and be able to work holidays. Good analytical and problem solving skills and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, team members and upper management; Good skills in implementing and configuring networks and network components; Ability to work with relational databases; working both independently and as part of a team.

Unique/Additional Requirements Desired Skills:
Experience with EnCase, ArcSight, Dragon and Remedy

Experience:
3-5 years of related experience in IT systems support
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
